This statue is inscribed in 1301 and is believed to have been originally located in the Myokendo Hall of the outer shrine of Ise Jingu.

However, this statue has a peculiar appearance: it wears armour, holds a sword in its right hand and has its hair tied in a mizura style.

Therefore, there is some doubt as to whether it should be called Myoken Bosatsu, as the legend says.
